Days 2 to 4:
After a night in Windhoek, a scenic flight will enable you to discover the incredible Fish River Canyon with a 3 nights stay at the Fish River Lodge. Fish River Lodge in southern Namibia is the only lodge perched directly on the rim of the Fish River Canyon offering guests breathtaking views of the canyon from sunrise to sunset. Experience first hand the geological forces that unfolded 300 million years ago, when the Fish River began to etch its way through hard quartzite forming a Canyon 90 kilometres long, 549 meters deep and 28 kilometres wide in some places, making it the world's second largest Canyon. Set in a grove of ancient Quiver trees (Aloe dichotoma), the Lodge has been carefully designed to echo the terraced and rugged terrain as well as the colours and textures of the landscape thereby offering guests a pleasant change from the typical 'safari' type lodge found elsewhere in Africa. There is a blend of classical and contemporary furnishings and many of the accessories have been made by San and Nama communities whose ancestors once roamed the terrain; authenticity, comfort and simplicity are key to the Lodge's unique ambiance.
Days 5 to 8:
In the morning after your third night at Fish River Lodge, an other private scenic flight will bring you to the Namib Desert and the fabulous NamibRand Private Reserve for a four nights stay at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. Sossusvlei Desert Reserve is set in the far northern part of the NamibRand Nature Reserve in Namibia. Here you can see a vast area of over 180 000 hectares (444 800 acres) that lies between the endless dune fields of the Namib Desert and the jagged mountains of the escarpment. You'll experience sandy dunes and rocky outcrops, and guaranteed to view a variety of desert habitats. The lodge itself is luxurious without being pretentious; it's a place where you can put your feet up in pure comfort and privacy, while being surrounded by all the creature comforts you wish for.
Days 9 to 12:
Your next place will also be reached via charter flight and is the remote Kaokoland, home of the Himbas and the Desert Elephants. You will have the chance to discover this incredible place with a four nights stay at the Okahirongo Elephant Lodge. Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is situated in the Kaokoland, often described as one of the last truly wild areas in the North West of Namibia and it features beautiful mountain landscapes and rugged tranquillity. It is one of the Namibia’s most remote destinations. It is a must if you want to have the chance to see once in your life lion, black rhinos and giraffes in a desert environment.
The lodge has an incomparable view of this incredible part of the Namibian desert. During hot days, spend time lazing around the pool, remembering the incredible scenery and wildlife you have seen during your morning drive. There are also two open air lounges as well as a library. The common spaces are completed by a small spa where body massage can be enjoyed. The lodge consists of 7 luxurious, en suite chalets, as well as an incredible suite with two rooms and combined living area, all with amazing views. The cottages are decorated in a mixed of ochre and sand colours and each of them has its own unique style and atmosphere. Handmade and locally crafted furnishing gives to this unique lodge a real African atmosphere.
