Thula Thula
The Zulu name Thula Thula literally means peace and tranquility...
Thula Thula, with its centuries of cultural and wildlife heritage, takes pride in tracing back it's origin to the private
hunting grounds of King Shaka, founder of the Zulu Empire.
The first historic meeting between Shaka and his father (Senzangakhona), which set the stage for the creation of the Zulu Nation, took place at the Nseleni River at Thula Thula.
Thula Thula is situated only 45 minutes from Richards Bay harbour and airport, and less than 2 hours drive from Durban. There is a 700m airstrip on the property.
Family owned and operated, Thula Thula is administered to the highest ethical standards, in keeping with modern conservation methods for the protection and enhancement of it´s indigenous and endangered species...

Wedding Safari
"It would have been difficult to have found a more appropriate venue for a romantic wedding than nature´s very own setting at Thula Thula Private Game Reserve.
Late afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees and set off to perfection the bride´s exquisite ecru brocaded wedding gown as she approached her groom resplendent in cravat and
tails.
The Bride and Groom exchanged their vows with bird song in the background adding a touch of African realism. A herd of elephants had paid homage to the couple the evening before, parading
and trumpeting to convey their own message of goodwill.
The rhythmic beat of drums added to the magic when Zulu dance leader Shaka and his crew from Buchanana joined in the celebrations. Champagne was served as the sun went down on the African
bush ... After the wedding ceremony and photos, the couple had a dream ending to their African experience - a private Safari !
A sumptuous wedding dinner served by candlelight under a moonlit and star studded sky created its own ambiance of magic and reinforced the reality that life can be beautiful."
