Robin Pope Safaris
Founded in 1986, Robin Pope Safaris are based in the unspoilt South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, home to one of the greatest collections of wildlife in the world - including leopard, lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, hippo and more than 400 species of birds. In the Luangwa our three intimate camps offer a true luxury wilderness experience with stylish accommodation, attentive service, fine dining and some of the best private guides in Africa. None of our bush camps sleeps more than twelve. Robin Pope Safaris is run by Robin, one of the best known guides in Africa, and his wife Jo. Robin and his team of guides specialise in walking safaris, photographic safaris, night drives and private safaris for families. Robin has lived in Zambia all his life and has immense knowledge of the country.
As pioneers of responsible tourism in Zambia for more than twenty years we have supported many community projects, including a village school. In the 2005 Responsible Tourism Awards Jo won the Best Personal Contribution award. We also win regular praise in the press. One of our camps, Tena Tena, was described by The Times of London as "altogether beyond superlatives… one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa".

Photographic Workshop
If you are at all interested in photography this is a great safari for you. Imagine - spend a week with like minded people, all interested in both photography and wildlife (big and small); and all wanting to improve their photographic skills. All talents and skill levels are welcome - just bring your own digital camera and laptop. It does not need to be a top-of-the-range model but one good enough to benefit from David's tips.
Since 2006 David Rogers, the well known wildlife photographer, has run photographic workshops at our camps. A group of maximum 6 guests will benefit from David's expertise and improve their digital photography. David will accompany the guests on all drives, give advice, analyse results and also how to best use Lightroom. As well as wildlife, he will look at landscapes, macro work, birds, insects and people. This is a unique opportunity to benefit from the knowledge of a leading wildlife photographer and see the South Luangwa at its most colourful.
Please contact info@thesafaricompany.net for the 2010 Photographic Workshop dates.
