Kaingu Safari Lodge is an owner run lodge situated on one of Africa’s great rivers, the Kafue, some 200 kilometres upstream from its confluence with the mighty Zambezi River. Set in an area of pristine wilderness, KaingU Lodge offers a magnificent safari experience in the heart of the African bush. Walking safaris, river cruises and bird watching, are always special on a river like the Kafue.

One family house and four luxuriously appointed East African safari tents set under thatch and placed on raised rosewood platforms overlook the river. Each unit has a spacious en-suite bathroom and a unique outdoor shower. The thatched central boma with lounge, bar and dining room has a large deck with fireplace overlooking the river.

We are an activities-based river lodge where there is no shortage of things to interest you. But it is you who sets the pace. You may just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the environment. Or you can find a private spot to read a book or reconnect with your soul. Our emphasis is on 'discovery' - the environment, the animals, the local people and maybe even something about yourself...

Emerald Season - Some call it the green season, some call it the rainy season. It is the time of the year when nature comes to life again, when wildlife is everywhere, when the bush is lush and when the sun is always around to bring out the best shades of green.
